10:27 am My dad has been going into my room every morning at 10 am sharp because the main computer and second line is located there. Apparently, my room became his "office" when I was away at college.

10:52 pm I go downstairs and eat lunch. Here are all the cards I have received for my graduation and birthday displayed on a pseudo-balcony along the stairs. :D

1:20 pm EDIT: two months later. mistake in photolog coding.

11:17 am The new Toyota Corolla LE! What irks me is that my parents won't let me drive it despite the fact that it will be mine in a few years. The only thing I really like about is that it comes with a standard cd player so I don't have to listen to the radio when I drive. Then again, anything that lets me get from point A to point B will do!

11:21 pm Driving the '88 Acura Legend to work in Berkeley. This car has a good (standard) stereo system. I don't believe in buying a sound system that is worth more than the car!

1:00 pm For one hour, I table in the middle of Memorial Glade (this is a side job, mind you) to get the word out to incoming freshman about Residential Computing. It's the CalSo orientation and it's hot...and nobody really cares about getting their internet yet. Most people are worried about getting wireless. Sorry guys, Berkeley is no Carnegie Mellon. We don't have wireless in our bathrooms.

1:00 pm This is what has been amusing me for the last hour. I watch two most rowdy tables to the right of me...talk and deck it out. The Greeks (fraternity/sorority organizations) and the Rally Committee. To this day, I still wonder how one person can wave a flag that is double their size for an entire rally.

1:12 pm I drag the table, chair, banners, and handouts all the way back to the office. Did I mention this is the part I dislike most about tabling? The first time I did tabling, the table and chair kept falling off the dolly. I spilled handouts everywhere. Embarrassing is the key word.

2:28 pm I call my supervisor to ask if there's any work. I am slightly irked that there is nothing to be done since I don't have another committment until 5 pm. I don't want to drive home, so I meander through Berkeley. Earlier, I had received an e-mail from a guy at Informatica asking to talk about a potential full-time position. I call him but get his voicemail. I was so nervous that I head outside to relieve my nerves by...an unhealthy boba drink at the funky boba cafe. It was good, by the way. I drank it all in 5 minutes!

2:38 pm I never knew this plaque existed until the Senior Pilgramage in May. It has been there all 4 years and I never noticed.

2:39 pm South Hall! The oldest buildings on campus! This reminds me of Hamilton Tech. All those old smallish looking buildings with scary interiors.

2:41 pm Cal is spraypainted on the lawn next to the Campanlie!!! Work of devilry!

3:15 pm I get to the computing center before it has to be opened. I prepare myself to call the guy from Informatica again. I have my datebook open, my resume ready, the e-mail he sent me open, and a pen. I call...and he is not there! I leave a voicemail again.

6:49 pm I spend the next few hours, supervising the center for the MSRI conference. One guy looks at my powerbook and tsks me for downloading music. I gave a polite laugh. Most people leave by 6 pm but the center is supposed to be open until 7. I plug the speakers into my powerbook and blast...the LOTR soundtrack throughout the room!

7:19 pm I lock up. As I stroll down the main stairs, I notice that the Greek Theatre is full of people. I think...a concert? But then I see people dressed in graduation gowns. I think, aren't all the Berkeley graduations over? red and yellow aren't cal colors! Then I looked closely. It's the Berkeley high graduation! I guess the high school didn't have enough space to accomodate everyone for the ceremony and had to use UC Berkeley's facilities.

7:40 pm I walk to my parking space (since there is no free parking in Berkeley) which I had rented from someone who lived at that worn house. I suppose I got ripped off for parking in a dirt driveway, but it's cheaper than parking on campus. You can see the Legend...which is parked in the NO PARKING zone.

7:59 pm I drive home. If I keep going straight on the freeway, it goes to where Emiliza lives. :D

8:02 pm Up the driveway I go! My house is at very end of the driveway. Most people get lost finding my house. Most people prefer not to drive up the driveway...since it's difficult to get out. But the benefits are that salespeople neglect to come up here (for the sheer walking distance) and the lights of incoming cars at night don't bother me.

8:04 pm My MESS from my Berkeley apartment in the garage. There is my futon, my bed, my screens, vacuum table/chair and misc items. My parents especially my mom had a fit about it when I told them I was unable to sell all the items.

9:47 pm I eat dinner...and eventually settle for an aimless evening of premium cable tv. I watch Sweet Home Alabama and of course...The Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring I repeat this cycle for the entire summer.

1:54 am Time to sleep. The cycle will begin again tomorrow. And I settle for another reading of the LOTR triology. Good night!
